Right next to the entrance to the children's section is a view of the materials handling system, which is a high tech conveyor belt. When you return an item at the drive-up book drop (see picture a little later in this gallery), the materials handling system picks it up, transfers it to the circulation department, and sorts it for staff to re-shelve.
A view of the custom-made, laser-cut ceiling panels running from the library's entrance to the quiet reading room (far back). The pattern on the panels is based on the leaves and branch extensions of the mesquite tree.
Carpet pattern in the space that will soon be occupied by the adult circulating collections (Fiction, Mystery, Westerns, Spanish, Reference, Nonfiction, etc). Study rooms and teen area are to the left.
